WELCOME ARTISTS!

THE PROBLEM

It's difficult to get sufficient exposure for your artwork unless you rely on art galleries to display your paintings - or you're already well-known and represented by a good agent.

However, the popularity of Internet is changing the rules of American marketing. With millions of potential buyers cruising the web, there are plenty of customers out there. The problem is that a single web page gets lost among hundreds of thousands. Before someone can buy your paintings, they've got to find them....not an easy task.

So, on February 8, 1998 Mike Crawford and Don Marsh started Wildlife Artists NetLink to try and solve the problem.  In April 1999  this site was taken over by Marc Houde.

WANL - OUR SOLUTION

The idea is simple. By joining Wildlife Artists NetLink, visitors to your web page will be able to click on a logo and easily go to the home pages of other wildlife artists. This serves both the artist and the customer as your paintings get more exposure, and the customer gets a wider choice of paintings with minimum effort searching the web.

When joining Wildlife Artists NetLink, you increase the chances that a buyer will find your web pages featuring your paintings.

That's what you get, at no charge or cost to you or your customers.

HERE'S WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • You must feature the Wildlife Artists NetLink logo prominently on your site.

Ideally our logo should be displayed on your home/index/front page.  If this is not possible then it should be included on your link page.

  • Your link is to be to our main page (http://www.wildartlink.com) which links to our main link directory of all member artists. We'll do all the hard work of keeping up with new additions, deletions, changes, etc. for you.

REQUIREMENTS YOU MUST MEET BEFORE BEING ACCEPTED INTO WILDLIFE ARTISTS NETLINK

  • Your website must be entirely art-related. The whole, and only, purpose/mission of WANL is to increase traffic to wildlife artist's webpages. We are not interested in promoting politics, religions, save-the-whatever species, etc.

  • A substantial portion of your artwork must be wildlife related.

  • You must be ACTIVELY engaged in making, or trying to make, a living at wildlife art. This can be on a full-time or part-time basis.

  • Assuming that you meet these qualifications you can go ahead and begin the setup process which includes adding our logo/text/link to your site and completing the membership application.  We will review your website upon receiving your application.  If for some reason you or your site do not meet the requirements set out above we will advise you.  While "quality" is subjective and often difficult-to-define, we will make some effort to assure that new members are professionals trying to make a living at wildlife art on a part-time or full-time basis. We desire that all of our members be SERIOUS wildlife artists.

  • We reserve the right to deny membership to any applicant whose website is cluttered with various and sundry webrings, etc. having nothing to do with wildlife art. To repeat, our only interest is in promoting careers of serious wildlife artists.
